■ 과학축제 내 VR 체험 인기리에 진행

지난 13일 성남시청소년청년재단과 경기도성남교육지원청이 주최하고 경기도성남교육지원청, 서현유스센터가 주관한 ‘2025 제16회 성남시 청소년 창의과학축제’에 참가해 홍보체험부스를 운영하며 청소년과 학부모님들에게 가상현실 VR과 실감형 콘텐츠 블라인드 시뮬레이터, 그리고 전맹 시각 장애에 대한 체험을 진행했습니다.

이날 패스파인더는 지역 청소년과 학부모님, 교육 및 보건 관계자 분들에게 블라인드 시뮬레이터의 시연과 체험, 안내를 드리며, 시각 장애에 대한 어려움과 편견, 그리고 이해를 돕는 시간을 가졌습니다.

■ 체험에 참가한 대다수의 학생이 VR 활용 만족과 장애 인식에 대해 긍정적으로 답변해

체험에 참여한 청소년 대부분이 처음에는 VR을 체험하는 호기심에서 부스를 찾았지만, 체험 이후 전맹 시각 장애에 대한 생각이 많아졌다고 다들 입모아 얘기했습니다. 한 예로, '블라인드 시뮬레이터 콘텐츠가 장애인에 대한 인식 개선에 도움이 되었다고 생각하시나요?'라는 질문에 90%가 넘는 대다수의 체험자가 '그렇다, 혹은 매우 그렇다'라는 답변을 남겨주었습니다.

체험에 참여했던 성남A학교의 학생은 "시각장애인에 대해 잘 알게 됐어요"라고 말하며, 체험에 대한 후기를 알려주기도 하였습니다.

한편, 성남시청소년창의과학축제는 매년 5,000여 명의 지역 주민과 청소년이 행사장을 찾는 지역의 주요 축제로서, 패스파인더는 VR 기술성과 대중성을 인정받아 이번 축제에 초청받아 함께하게 되었습니다.

We are PATHFINDER, a developer of immersive content, and we are pleased to share our participation in the 2025 16th Seongnam Youth Creative Science Festival, held in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do.

■ VR Experience a Popular Attraction at the Festival

On September 13, hosted by the Seongnam Youth Foundation and the Seongnam Office of Education, and organized by the Seongnam Office of Education and Seohyeon Youth Center, PATHFINDER operated a promotional booth where youth and parents could experience VR, immersive content through the BLIND SIMULATOR, and gain first-hand insight into total blindness.

During the event, PATHFINDER provided demonstrations, hands-on experiences, and guidance to local youth, parents, educators, and healthcare officials. This allowed participants to better understand the challenges and prejudices faced by visually impaired individuals.

■ Positive Feedback from Students on VR and Awareness

Most participating students initially visited the booth out of curiosity about VR, but afterward, many shared that the experience changed how they thought about total blindness.

For example, in response to the question, “Do you think the BLIND SIMULATOR helped improve your perception of people with disabilities?” more than 90% of participants answered “Yes” or “Strongly Yes.”

A student from School A in Seongnam commented, “I was able to learn more about people with visual impairments,” reflecting positively on the experience.

■ A Local Science Festival with 5,000 Visitors

The Seongnam Youth Creative Science Festival is a major annual event, drawing over 5,000 local residents and students. PATHFINDER was invited to participate this year in recognition of the innovation and accessibility of its VR technology, highlighting its growing role in public education and awareness.
